The Anderson Gallery is a place on the web for me, George M. Anderson, to offer for sale my Fine Art Photographs in Color and Black and White . It is also a place for you to view this work and, if you like, arrange to purchase images, framed or unframed. The images can be purchased in various sizes and on various media: aluminum, canvas, acrylic, metallic paper and fine art paper. Please contact me with any questions about the media.
Photography has been a big part of my life for over 40 years. Since that old polyester 'film' was used, way back in the 1970s to be specific. I do still use film, though the availability of the various types of film I preferred has drastically decreased over the past dozen or so years. Since about the turn of the century/millenia, I have supplemented and gradually replaced almost entirely my film usage with the wonderful digital camera technology available today. The film I use now is almost exclusively 4x5 inch large format slide film for maximum color, contrast and detail.
Digital SLRs and smaller mirrorless digital cameras have exceeded the resolution of the finest 35mm film since the first 10MegaPixel sensors were introduced. Combined with Photoshop or other applications, the files produced by digital cameras can be made to simulate and even exceed the properties of film. I do take advantage of these capabilities when I can or must in order to produce the art that my mind's eye pictured. That does not mean I 'alter' all the images. I do this only occasionally and when I do, I state it.
For years I was one of the few photographer/printers who availed themselves of the finest darkroom print material ever created to put color slides to paper - that being Cibachrome, later called Ilfochrome Classic Polyester Deluxe. Printing Cibachrome was very difficult but the results were well worth it. It took a number of years for digital printing to achieve a look approaching that of Ciba. The metallic papers available today very closely simulate Ciba for most images. And the new metal and acrylic prints exceed the look of Cibachrome and prove the adage "you get what you pay for".
My artwork presented here is the best of what I've captured over the years. The prints made from these images are all created by me and digitally printed by either myself or a professional printing house. In either case the prints are prepared using the latest imaging technology and made to museum standards of longevity.
I hope you enjoy these galleries and will contact me with comments or questions or print orders when the idea strikes you.
